Bernice A. Shaw (Gram) 87, of Montpelier, Vermont. Passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 28, 2023 at CVMC. Bernice was born April 20, 1936 in Topsfield, Maine she was the daughter of George and Ruth Ripley. Bernice was the eldest of 10 children.

She married Eroll Merle Shain and they had 4 children. They later divorced and she married Eugene Shaw. They moved and made Vermont their home.

Bernice worked in the food service industry for most of her life. She retired from Sodexo at Norwich at the ripe old age of 29 (haha…in her late 80's).

Some of her favorite activities included reading books, traveling all over, telling stories of her younger years, talking to friends and family on the phone, watching NASCAR, playing with her dog Ginger, and spending time with her closest granddaughter Tina Potter and significant other Chad Douglass and their two children Ashley and Tyler.

Bernice was always full of love, laughter, and life with family, friends and who ever she would meet.

She is survived by her son Eroll Jr. & Barbra Shain; a daughter Lynne Daniels & Jeff Conklin; and son Kyle Allen Shain; 3 sisters Brenda & Charlie Metcalf; Roberta & Floyd; Linda & Bobby Ryan; 1 brother Arthur & Verna Ripley; (5 Generations) 9 Grandchildren; 15 Great-Grandchildren; 13 Great-Great Grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; friends and close friends and many old and young that thought of her as their own grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Eugene Shaw; a daughter Rosalie; 3 brothers Franklin, Rusty, and Roland; 2 sisters Judy and Faye.
