Beatrice "Bea" Irene Fitch, 97, of Maple Corner, Calais, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2014 in Berlin.
She was born April 24, 1917 in Albany, Vermont to Alanson Martin and Marjorie George. On October 24, 1936, she married Floyde Clyde Fitch Sr. in Riverton. Together they lived their lives in Maple Corners, VT until his death in 2005.
Bea was well loved by all who knew her and was always one to have a clever prank up her sleeve. She loved spending time with family; it was not unusual to have a house full any day. She also enjoyed snowmobiling and singing. Bea was a member of the Adamant Methodist Church, The Mission Ladies, and was a lifetime member of the Mountain Tamers Snowmobile Club.
Bea is survived by: "her four boys" Floyde "Bub" Fitch of Douglasville, GA., David Erwin Fitch of Woodbury, VT., Cedric Dennis Fitch of Venice, FL., and Randall Martin Fitch of Calais, VT., five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Phyllis Martin Mann of Vernon, CT.
Bea was predeceased by her husband; brothers, Phillip Martin and Preston "Stubby" Martin; and sisters, Fern Robertson and Karlene Stone.
A committal service will be held in the spring at Robinson Cemetery in Calais.
