Audrey June Pike, 86, formerly of Plainfield Village and Methuen, MA, but most recently of Heaton Woods in Montpelier, died on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Central Vermont Medical Center.
She was born on January 26, 1927 in Plainfield, VT the daughter of Leland and Violet (Rushlow) Bartlett. She graduated from Plainfield High School.
She was married Wayne Cochran and had four children together, Nancy, Bonnie, Corky & Jeff. She later married John Pike and they had four children, Audrey, John, Tracy and Dan.
Along with raising her children, Audrey was a child care provider for many families while she lived in Methuen, MA.
Audrey loved snowmobiling and camping and she enjoyed raising farm animals. Audrey will also be remembered for baking her own apple pies and breads at selling them at local stores. She was also skilled at making hooked rugs.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Nancy Holt of Plainfield; Bonnie Raboin of Orange; Audrey Haley of Methuen, MA; 5 sons, Corky Cochran of Cabot; Jeff Cochran of East Montpelier; John Pike of Derry, NH; Tracy Pike of Plainfield; and Dan Pike of Metheun, MA; 2 sisters, Ruth Thurber and Wilma Griffith both of Tilton, NH; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Gerald Bartlett.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 26th at Guare & Sons Funeral Home from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm with a funeral service beginning at 1:30. A committal service will follow the funeral at the Plainfield Center Cemetery.
