Arthur H. Belanger, Jr, 93, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 28, 2024, at Woodridge Nursing Home. His wife Joan and son, Steven were with him.

He was born in Montpelier, VT to Clara (Richardson) and Arthur Belanger, Sr on September 12, 1931. He married Joan Pinto on August 12, 1955. They have one son, Steven (Valerie).

Arthur joined the United States Army in his senior year of High School and later received his High School diploma. Later Arthur joined the United States Air Force. While in the service, he trained at Keesler A.B. in San Antonio Texas for Chemical Warfare. He served in Japan as an MP. Arthur was stationed in Okinawa during the Korean Era. He served the remaining 4 years of his service on Cape Cod at Otis Air Force Base. Arthur received the Good Conduct Medal, the Occupation Medal of Japan, the Korean Service Medal, the Vermont Services Medal, and the VT Veterans Medal.

Arthur worked for the US Postal Service in Montpelier and later left to join his brother, Conrad, in The Belanger's Cleaning Services. They purchased properties together for many years until he retired.

His hobbies included antique cars and woodworking. He could build anything with wood. He worked on his woodworking while spending 6 months of the year in Florida. Arthur's happy place was the "Sawdust Club".

Arthur was a member of the St. Augustine Church, a life member of the VFW, Elks, and a member of the American Legion.

Besides his parents, Arthur was predeceased by family members, Francis, Robert, Renfield, Nancy, Donna (Robert). He leaves his wife Joan (Pinto), married for 69 years; son, Steven and Valerie and their children, Kevin, Stephanie, Stella, Brooks; Lauren (Seth), Taylor and Lucy. Also, brother, Conrad; Sister, Elizabeth, and sisters in law, Martha, Gayle, and Pearl Belanger; and many nieces and nephews.

He will be buried at Green Mount Cemetery in the Spring.
