East Montpelier, VT
Anne Vigneault Sherman, age 85, died peacefully at home on December 25, 2018.
She was born on March 26, 1933 at home in Williamstown, Vermont to Phyllis (Taylor) and Paul Henry Vigneault. She was the oldest of eight children; Yvonne (deceased), Paul "Buddy" (deceased), Sandra
(deceased), Patricia, Gayle, Lorinda, and George. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 59 years, Roger Elton Sherman and was always especially proud of their three children Joey (Yukie), Todd (Rochelle), and Heidi (Mike); seven grandchildren Katrina (Ryan), Zachary (Sarah), Gianna, Anneliese, Neil, William, and Sam; and three great-grandchildren - Emi, Kai, and Brantlee.
Anne devoted her life to raising her children, and serving her community. She was the perfect school room mother, a 15+ year 4-H sewing leader, and her childrens biggest fan at concerts, plays, and sporting events! She was an East Montpelier Town Auditor and Board of Adjustment member. She sang in the Old Brick Church Choir for many years. She belonged to the Montpelier Emblem Club and was a lifetime member of the Montpelier Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars where she served as Local President, State President, State Soloist and National Soloist.
Anne took great joy in life. She loved nature, particularly birds and flowers, and she was an amazing seamstress, crafter, knitter, and crocheter. She had a great sense of humor and often delighted friends
and family with her "colorful" jokes. She had the most beautiful soprano voice which she shared locally and nationally.
Her family is especially grateful to all the friends, family, and Town of East Montpelier employees who looked out for her well-being in recent years.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Montpelier Fast Squad at 54 Village Acres, East Montpelier, VT 05651.
A celebration of Annes life will be held in the spring.
