Ann (Nancy) Catherine Shutts Sunde, 92, of Montpelier, VT, passed away on August 18, 2022 with her loved ones by her side. Nancy was born on December 9, 1929 to Emmett and Annastasia (Conway) Shutts at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. Nancy was baptized at St. Margaret Church in Waterbury as well. She attended Grammar School at St. Margaret's & Notre Dame Academy. Following this, she graduated from Catholic high school in 1947. Following high school, Nancy attended Becker Jr. College from 1947-1949 graduating with an associate's degree as a medical secretary. On June 19, 1954, she married the love her life Raymond Sunde. Their love and devotion to one another for 69 years was like non other. She was employed at several facilities throughout her working career including National Grange Mutual Liability Insurance Company, Scovill Manufacturing, and St. Mary's Hospital. She was the president of Bud & Blossom Garden Club in Wethersfield, Connecticut. Nancy was also on the Women's Chair of the Insurance City Golf Tournament in Wethersfield along with the Jr. Chamber Commerce of the Women's Wives Club. She enjoyed volunteering to help others. Nancy volunteered at the Bradley Memorial Hospital in Southington Connecticut, and at the Noble Hospital in Westfield, MA. In more recent years, she spent time volunteering at the Central Vermont Medical Center, in Berlin, VT. Along with her parents, Nancy is predeceased by her daughter, Cathy Duda. Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Raymond; and their children John Sunde (Coreen) West Hartford Ct., and Joy Thomas (Marty) Montpelier Vt, their son-in-law, Raymond Duda Somers ct. Nancy is also survived by her grandchildren, Kali Flynn (Nathan), M.J. Thomas (Adrienne), David Thomas, Andrew Sunde, Ian Sunde, and Abigail Sunde; along with her great-grandchildren Emmett Flynn, McKenna Flynn, Lilley Flynn, Jordyn Thomas, Jackson Thomas, Drew Thomas, Mikayla Flynn, and Kolby Flynn.
