Andrew R. Field, 88 passed away on August 13, 2015 at the Woodridge Nursing Home, Berlin Vermont. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 22, 1926. Following graduation from high school in 1945, he served in the Army during World War II in the Military Police. He returned home in 1947 at which time he married his high school sweetheart Juanita. Later that year he entered Western Reserve University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. Following that he earned his Law Degree from Cleveland Marshall Law School, graduating with honors, after which he passed the bar exam. From 1953-1972, Andrew worked for National Life Insurance Company as an Associate Counsel in the Real Estate Division, first in Cleveland, Ohio, then in Montpelier, Vermont. In 1972 he began his own private law practice in Montpelier, and later was the founder of Field & Field, P.C. with his daughter Sarah. Over the years, Andrew chaired and sat on the boards of numerous organizations and helped found the Vermont Small Business Investment Corporation. Andrew was a member of the American, Vermont, Washington Country and Ohio State Bar Associations. He was a communicant of St. Monica's Catholic Church and a Eucharistic Minister. He was active in religious education classes and was a volunteer tutor at St. Monica - St. Michael Catholic School. Andrew was a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed time with family and friends. All who knew him were touched by his compassion and love for others. Andrew is predeceased by his daughter, Nora Catano of Port St. Lucie, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife, Juanita; children Sarah Field of Barre, Vermont; Elizabeth Altmann of San Jose, California; and Emily Hutchison of Massena, New York; as well as nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass in celebration of Andrew's life will be held at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Barre, Vermont on Saturday, September 12 at 10am.
