Montpelier, VT Alicia Ballantyne Miles, 65, passed away on June 4, 2018. She was born in Proctor, VT on September 10, 1952 and graduated from Rutland Schools. She was raised by her beloved grandmother, Beatrice Doner, and family friend, Florence. Alicia began a lifelong interest in ballet and a special event she loved was attending the Russian Ballet performances at the Stowe Performing Arts Center. She also developed a fondness for horses and her favorite cats, Baby and Muffin. Alicia married Gordon Miles on May, 26, 1984, in the Mountain Chapel on the Toll Road and has remained in the Montpelier area. She worked for many years in retail, as a residential healthcare provider and as a waitress at several central Vermont restaurants including her favorite, the Coffee Corner. She enjoyed listening to radio station 101 The One and was often a contest winner. In recent years she had failing health. Alicia will be missed and fondly remembered for her kind nature, her appreciation of family life and her remarkable management skills. She leaves behind Gordon Miles, William and Elaine Miles, Jonathan and Elizabeth Miles and Barbara and James Connor. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June12 at noon at Green Mountain Cemetery, 250 State Street, Montpelier. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alicias memory to the Trinity United Methodist Church, 137 Main Street, Montpelier, VT 05602.
