Alice Lucinda Wheeler Farrand, 98, formerly of Pleasant View Street, Montpelier and most recently of Hyde Park, died on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Copley Hospital in Morrisville. She was born on November 7, 1914 in Hardwick, the daughter of Alton Rufus Joel Wheeler and Belle E. (Badger) Wheeler. She attended schools in Hardwick and graduated from Hardwick Academy in 1934. On August 16, 1935, she married Clifton D. Farrand. Mr. Farrand predeceased her on June 10, 1990. She is survived by nephews, Ray Merchant of Wolcott, CT, Robert Hayford, Sr. of Brunswick, ME, and family of deceased nephew Donald Merchant and their mother Terry Merchant of California, many dear cousins and friends. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ula R. Kirkpatrick and Emma A. Merchant. A graveside service will be held in the springtime at Fairview Cemetery in Hardwick.
